Chocolate Energy Bites 🍫

Why they’re a treat:
Portable, no-bake, indulgent but wholesome—ideal for quick energy boosts.
Ingredients (makes about 12 balls/squares)
1 Cup rolled oats
2 Tbsp cocoa powder
3 Tbsp peanut or almond butter
2 Tbsp honey or syrup
1 Tbsp ground flaxseed
Optional: 1 Tbsp chia seeds, coconut flakes
Method
Combine: All of the ingredients in a bowl. Start with oats, flaxseed and chia seeds (if using them). Add in the cocoa powder and give the dry ingredients a good stir.
- Add in the peanut / almond butter followed by the honey or syrup.
In a bowl, mix all ingredients until sticky.
Shape: Roll into balls about 1 Tbsp each, or shape into small squares.
Chill: Refrigerate for 30 – 60 minutes, until they firm up.
Pro Tips:
Store airtight for up to 1 week, or freeze for later.
Add a few chocolate chips inside the centre for gooey surprise.
- Alternatively, add in a sprinkle of cayenne pepper, or anise, or ginger for a spicier version.
- Sea salt can also be added to the flavouring.
