Recipe By Hannah Crawford
A naturally sweet, ice-cold slush that tastes like summer in a glass. Just a few fresh ingredients, zero fuss and it’s ready within minutes. Perfect for garden days, picnics, or when you just crave something cold and delicious.
ย
Ingredients (Serves 2โ3):
-
3 cups fresh watermelon (deseeded & cubed)
-
Juice of ยฝ lime or lemon
-
A few fresh mint leaves (optional)
-
1 cup ice (more if you like it extra thick)
-
Optional: ยฝ tsp honey, agave or maple syrup (only if needed โ watermelon is usually sweet enough!)
ย
Method:
-
Prep: For best results, freeze your watermelon cubes for 1โ2 hours before blending it makes the slush thicker and icier.
-
Blend: Add frozen watermelon, lime juice, mint, and ice to a blender.
-
Sweeten (if needed): Taste and add a drizzle of honey or sweetener if you like it sweeter.
-
Serve: Pour into a chilled glass and garnish with a mint sprig or a slice of lime.
ย
Tips:
-
Add a splash of coconut water or lemonade for extra hydration or a citrusy twist.
-
For adults, a cheeky shot of white rum or vodka turns this into a quick summer cocktail ๐น
