Hi, I’m Hannah & a huge welcome to my corner of the internet.
I began blogging over a decade ago now as the London Mummy Blog, capturing the chaos, beauty, and soul-stretching moments of motherhood in the heart of London city. Since then, life’s taken a few wild turns! Turn’s I could never have imagined, nor predicted by then. This includes swapping the fast pace of Kingston upon Thames for the big skies, muddy boots, and messy magic of the Northern countryside.
This new blog, London in the Countryside, it’s where I return to what I once left behind. Where the silences are filled, and the pieces begin to make sense again. Motherhood, creativity, soul-warming recipes, useful beauty tips, life hacks, parenting tips, honest reviews, budget finds, rural reflections, lot’s of cup of tea’s and the occasional cosmic sign from the universe. It’s equal parts chaos and calm, crafted from fresh cups of tea, countryside walks, and the unapologetic reality of raising a family while still chasing dreams.
But beyond the blog, here’s a bit more about me…
I hold a BA (Hons) 2.1 in Television Studies and New Broadcasting Media, alongside a degree in Film Studies from Kingston University, and a Master’s in Screenwriting with Distinction from University of the Arts London. I’m also qualified in coding and ICT, with a range of digital and design certifications under my belt, which means I not only write stories but also build platforms to hold them.
My background extends into a Diploma’s in Human nutrition and Counselling. In addition to qualifications in CBT, NLP, and in Beauty, Level three in massage to name just a few. Reflecting my deep interest in holistic wellness and emotional wellbeing, especially as they relate to motherhood and personal growth.
Over the past eleven years, I’ve also written and published a number of books, ranging from children’s books and audiobook, to recipe books and my first fiction book, Nut The Suspect. I’m currently working on several exciting new projects (some illustrated, some cinematic, some somewhere in-between). I design, write, illustrate, and develop content mostly from home, as I love being able to shape a creative life around my children’s needs. This isn’t just a choice; it’s something I fiercely protect and prioritise.
I’m a screenwriter, storyteller, designer, and full-time snack-provider to three brilliant little humans. And while I’ve traded city lights for village parking drama’s and cups of tea’s, and exclusive event invites for muddy football fields, I’ve never stopped creating, or sharing the beautiful, imperfect, sometimes hilarious truth of it all.
Whether you’ve followed me since the London Mummy days or just stumbled across this blog with half a cold cup of coffee and a sense you need something authentic? Then…I’m so glad you’re here!
This is your space too. For the honest moments, the quiet magic, the deep exhale, and the loud laughter. We do things a little wild and down-to earth around here.
Love always,
Hannah xx
