There is no precise time that you should pack your hospital bag for, however it is a good idea to have one packed by weeks 34/35. Some women decide to pack their hospital bags much earlier on, it is completely your choice. What exactly you pack inside of your hospital bag is entirely up to you but there are a few essentials that you should pack inside the bag that you will need for both you and your new-born baby.
Although there are companies who provide pre-made up hospital bags, and brands who sell hospital bags targeted purely at pregnant women you do not have to buy any of these products. A normal holdall, cabin bag, or even a small suitcase will do just fine.
For you: Dressing gown Slippers Towel Maternity pads – around 24 Breast pads Paper/disposable knickers Comfortable clothes for going home in. At this moment in time the Kiss Light reflecting facial primer is my star beauty product, it really is the prime of my life. I’ve never tried anything like it. The kiss light reflecting primer contains silica spheres which diffuse light and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
The kiss light reflecting facial primer also contains conditioning and antioxidant vitamin E, Apricot oil and Baobab oil that softens and moisturises skin. The primer comes in a lovely feminine 30ml pink squeezey bottle. The bottle and packaging are what first drew me into buying the primer.
Prime of Your Life is very easy to use and even with the tiniest amount applied to your face it helps to balance out your natural skin tone. There is no need what so ever to apply a second layer, as the first layer gets it right straight away.
The primer is a great base for your skin before you apply any foundation, tinted moisturiser or BB ream. I am beyond in love with how this primer makes my skin feel after just one layer. Immediately, it leaves my skin feeling beautiful and velvety. Even when the primer is worn on it’s own, as I have often done around the house it creates a lovely matte texture that evens out your skin tone, making you look naturally beautiful.

This light and delicate primer is everything that a primer should be. You really are the Prime of my life! I give this product a fabulous five out of five stars.
I first tried Rimmel London Volume Shake Mascara after I spotted the mascara whilst I was out doing some shopping in London. The sleek bottle and gold writing was what caught my eye.
Upon inpecting the effortlessly glamourous bottle of mascara, I was instantly intrigued with the ‘no clump mascara’ statement that was boldly promised by Rimmel London.
What a brilliant invention. So why has nobody else thought of this idea before, I quickly wondered. After all, there must be millions, if not billions of women out there with the same problem when it comes to buying clumpy mascaras. No matter the price tag or the brand name, mascara’s seem to become rapidly lumpy and clumpy or typically becomes no good once you get halfway through the bottle.
Rimmel London go on to claim that the, ‘Volume Shake mascara gives lashes a beautiful Clump-free volume, from first to last use! If you hate to throw away half-used mascara because it dries out or simply isn’t as good as new, this volumizing black mascara is perfect for you.’ Right there and then I decided I just had to try this mascara, I was sold.
After all, it might be the best cosmetic I have ever come across. I couldn’t just walk away. Rimmel London had won me over with their marketing but was their product really as good as they claimed it to be? I had to get it home to see.
Mascaras always seem to start off superb, and then after a few weeks of daily use, I personally think that they rapidly go downhill. So when I did purchase the Volume Shake Mascara by Rimmel London, I was feeling very sceptical as to how long it would really work for, if at all.
Rimmel London Volume Shake Mascara is different from the others currently available as it features a first to market shaker system that they cleverly patented. The patented design has been put in place to extend the life of the mascara. This could be a real game changer.
For the first couple of weeks, as always the mascara worked a treat and there wasn’t a lump or clump in sight on my lashes. I was absolutely delighted! I was very impressed with the natural volumised lashes. I like to keep my lashes natural and this mascara added great texture and colour. Even after more than one layer was added, my lashes remained clump free. But how did the mascara do after the first couple of weeks? Did it go downhill like the other mascara’s tend to? Well I can safely say that even after a couple of weeks of wear the mascara is still proving good and it isn’t leaving any clumps on my lashes. However, as I got more than half way down the bottle it did seem to be getting a little more difficult to get that great eye coverage and length that I was initially getting in the beginning. The idea is when you shake the mascara bottle it immediately refreshes the volumising formula whenever you need it. Albeit, I found that the Volume Shake Mascara works much better if you shake the bottle firmly at a slight angle. The formula refreshes to a higher quality, a gentle shake won’t give you the same effect, so bare this is mind if you purchase the product.
The mascara bottle doesn’t particularly stand out or look different from other mascaras available in beauty stores. I only noticed the new mascara by chance because the gold writing caught my egar eye. The bottle is slightly heavier than other mascara bottles also. Again, the mascara brush is what you would expect from a voulmising mascara, it doesn’t really stand out or look unique, but it works like a little best friend at creating natural long looking lashes, which is what I adore about it.
The volumising mascara is easy to apply and it doesn’t dry to quickly, which means it doesn’t crumble down your eyes as other mascaras can do. Rimmel’s Volume Shake Mascara definitely adds volume and length to your eyes, even with just one layer. It’s not drastic looking or over the top, I would say that Rimmel London have got the Volume formula just right. I have never needed to curl my own lashes, however if you do I would say that you probably won’t need to if you’re wearing this mascara.
The durability is as magnificent as the volumised lashes! I usually apply one layer of the Volume Shake Mascara in the morning, before the school run and a second layer several hours later in the early evening. However, I have noticed that this mascara tends to smudge a lot easier than other brand mascaras that I usually wear. Albeit, the smudges are easily removed as the mascara doesn’t stain too much.
One of the major downsides to Rimmel Londons Volume Shake Mascara is that it isn’t waterproof. Fair enough, it doesn’t pretend to be, but still I was hoping that it would be somewhat water resistant. Therefore, if you’re going in the bath, shower or swimming, or if your planning on doing some crying, I would highly recommend that you remove this mascara from your eyes first, or be prepared to look like a panda bear! I do think that this is an issue that Rimmel London could look into, in order to improve the quality of the Volume Shake Mascara. If they did make the mascara waterproof, I would happily say that the product is near on perfect. Unfortunately, this isn’t the case. A positive side to this however, is that the Volume Shake Mascara comes off super easy with just a little bit of make-up remover, it isn’t as stubborn as other branded mascaras.
In conclusion, the Volume Shake Mascara by Rimmel London is proving to be a great product, and so far it has been worth the money as I haven’t had to throw it out half way through the bottle. Although, because the mascara does smudge easier than most, and because it isn’t waterproof, I can’t give the mascara a full five stars. Instead I would like to present Rimmel London Volume Shake Mascara with a fabulous 4/5 stars! This is a great volumising mascara, it doesn’t leave clumps on your eyes. It looks natural yet beautiful and gives a nice finish after every application. I am most certainly pleased that I discovered this product, and I will most certainly be purchasing the mascara again.
Baby, it’s cold outside! Are we ready for the weather to get colder? Absolutely not! Well, you might be, but I am certainly not!
The battle between cold Arctic air and milder Atlantic air is going to result in disruptive snow across the country this week. The snow was due to start falling today, and technically it has started falling in areas across Britain already – including in the countryside. Although I was expecting to wake up to a blanket of white fluffy snow this morning, it wasn’t quite the case. We had mere drizzles of snowflakes on the muddy grassy and no ice on the cars whatsoever! Which was a huge relief before the school run.
Albeit, these snow warnings are not over just yet and the Met Office has issued snow to fall for the week across the country. The temperature has definitely dropped outside and it’s not only snow we need to worry about, the weather is also bringing in so harsh cold winds.
It’s strange how most of us assume that once January and February are over with that Spring is underway, and this automatically means sunny weather. Yet, in Britain, we are more likely to have snow during this time.
Today I decided that I am having a very London tea break as I frustratingly rebuild and re-design my blog from scratch all over again. I can’t lie and pretend it is all going smoothly, as it really isn’t.
I have hit many technical snags this morning with PNG files and errors to basic pages freezing. I guess this is all a part of the joys of building your own blog, as is the same with game app development. The frustration and stress and sheer emotional rollercoaster that you endure along the way, however when the project is finished afterwards? You know that it is all of your hard work, sweat, tears and tantrums and no one else’s, which makes it that little bit more precious to you.
I have had a few cups of tea and coffee today, but after working on my blog for the past four and a half hours straight, I decided I needed a special cup of tea and a little blog post to lift my spirits. To remind myself how much passion I have for the blog life. How much I miss my London Mummy Blog, and how I can’t wait to get this one up and running.
Suddenly, ahhhh that’s better! I’m all good to go!
I am going to make this post really quick and short. I just wanted to share with you some amazing Christopher Robin and Winnie the Pooh stationery that I bought earlier this week. I have to admit, I haven’t yet had the chance to watch the new Christopher Robin film, however, it is most definitely on my to do list with the kids.
As most of you have probably gathered by now from my posts and Instagram pictures, I am a huge stationary fanatic who also loves crafts and crafting. When I saw these little beauties in the shop I just had to load up my shopping basket with them. Just look how cute these Christopher Robin sets are! Totally adorable! What a bargain for a £1 each! Thank you Poundland, you’ve made me & the children extremely happy. I am sure we will be very busy crafting and making thing’s over the school holiday’s with these little crafting bargain gems.
